Pte Francis Garforth, Duke of Wellington’s Regt, youngest son of Mr and Mrs Garforth of 78 Manor Lane, Shipley, was killed in action on 28th March. Now 30 years of age, he joined up eight months ago and has been at the front 11 weeks. He worked at the Lower Holme Mills, Shipley, and was a member of St Paul’s cricket and football clubs.. His brother, Driver Ben Garforth, R.F.A. of 39 Field Street, Shipley, is 40 years old and has been at the front 15 months. Shipley Times & Express 26 April 1918
