Gordon Ernest Macvie
N.B. the name was spelt McVie in the 1901 census
An interesting letter has been received by a friend from Lieut G Ernest
Macvie, son of Dr Macvie of Baildon, who is serving with the R.A.M.C in
Macedonia.
He states that his friends at Baildon may be interested to know that he was
transported by the ill-fated Cunarder, Ivernia, who was sent to the bottom
on her next trip.
On arrival at Salonika, he was appointed to the staff of the General
Hospital which affords ample opportunities of gaining valuable
experience.
Lieut Macvie adds they are confident that before long the Bosche will get
his coup-de-grace.
