Albert Marshall
Albert was born in Pateley Bridge in 1880 the son of John Henry and
Esther Ann who moved to Shipley sometime around 1892.
We learn from the report of the death of his brother Redford that the
family suffered a series of losses during the war but all we learn about
Albert’s death is a paragraph in the Shipley Times & Express on 17 May
1918 reporting on the death of his step brother Tom Smarth:
Pte Albert Marshall, West Yorks Regt, who had worked 24 years for Stuart
Bros, Shipley, died of wounds on 15th September 1917.
