The following item appeared in the Shipley Times and Express on Friday 29 October 1915: Pte Harold Robinson (2nd Bradford “Pals”) son of Mr H Robinson, Chemist, Baildon, and Nurse Edith Whitaker, daughter of Mr C Whitaker, Northgate, Baildon, were married by special licence at the Baildon Moravian Church on Wednesday morning. The Rev J M Birtill (pastor) officiated. The bride, who was given away by her father, was accompanied as bridesmaids by Miss Elsie Robinson (sister of the bridegroom), Mrs Edith Leeming and Miss Rachel Whitaker. The best man was Mr Arthur Robinson (brother of the bridegroom). Both bride and bridegroom (pictured) are serving their King and country and they went
through the honeymoon in uniform. The bride is a member of the voluntary Aid Detachment of the St John Ambulance Association and is engaged at the Northern General (base) Hospital, Leicester. The bridegroom was formerly employed at Messrs W N Sharpe & Co, Bradford. He was well-known as a member of the Baildon FC and Baildon Green CC.
