John William Taylor
In 1901, John was living with his family at 13 Manor Fold, Baildon. His
father was a mason contractor.
John was in the Royal Field Artillery before joining the Royal Engineers
On 17 May 1918, the Shipley Times & Express published:
Sgt J W Taylor, second son of Mr and Mrs W Taylor of 19 Moorland
Avenue, has recently been awarded the Military Medal for gallantry in
keeping up communication under heavy fire.
Enlisting in the R.F.A. in December 1914, Sgt Taylor trained at Frome,
and proceeded to France in September 1915.
He is 29 years of age and in civil life was associated with his father in
their business of contractors.
An elder brother is with the Tank Corps.
