William Thornton
There is only one mention of William, who was one of the thousands of
victims of the Battle of the Somme:
Pte W Thornton of the West Yorkshire Regt and of 140 Highfield Road,
Idle, has been reported as missing since September 3rd.
Prior to enlisting he was employed in the Street and Drainage Department
of the Bradford Corporation.
